Design projects. Before & after.
Six DFW homes, six different briefs: remodeled to sell, or remodeled to stay. Travis-Lee Moore · Cliffside Collective · Compass
Six homes. Six different briefs. One question every time: are we remodeling to sell, or to stay?
Some of these were prepared for market, where every dollar had to come back at closing. One was my own 1962 house, where the brief was the next ten years. The work looks nothing alike, and that’s the point. If you’re deciding which one you are, Remodeling to Sell in Dallas walks the decision, and the full before-and-after guide has the numbers.
3704 Ovid Avenue · Oak Cliff, Dallas
Remodeled to stay. My own house.

Built in 1962 and never improved. Not once. Removing the exterior brick to change the kitchen windows changed the entire personality of the home. The bath followed: walk-in shower, patterned floor, a little personality.

400 Sewell Court · Las Colinas, Cottonwood Valley
Full refresh before market.

Custom-built when Cottonwood Valley was in its heyday, and ready for a refresh. New kitchen, new primary suite, and the pool resurfaced and re-equipped. Every dollar went where a Cottonwood Valley buyer’s eye goes first.

2921 Thomas Avenue · Uptown rooftop
Remodeled to stay. The best seat in Uptown.

A rooftop that had never been used up to its potential. We installed an outdoor kitchen, had custom furniture fabricated, and fully outfitted the space with accessories, servingware, liquor, wine and a stocked refrigerator.
1508 Windchime · Oak Cliff, Dallas
Remodeled to sell, for a family trust.

Remodeled for a family trust to make it ready for sale. Paint, fixtures, a refreshed bath, staging throughout. We also had to find a buyer for the pipe organ; the owner had played for Christ the King.
6051 Oakdale Court · Watauga
Remodeled to sell. Empty-nesters, next chapter.

A great little house that had raised a family and had the scars to prove it. The kitchen was opened to the living room with an island and subway tile, the bath refreshed to match, and the front door handled. A refresh, not a gut.
3553 Diamondhead · Plano
Light refresh. No remodel needed.

Five items: landscaping added, drywall touched up and every wall repainted, fogged windows de-fogged instead of replaced, fixtures swapped, and the house staged. That was the whole scope. Knowing what not to spend on is half the job.
